HIstory
The Welsh House was built in 1857 ~ and named after Robert Welsh ~ the mason who built it. Designated a 'Significant Building” for its unique architecture and style of brickwork (Flemish rowlock bond…) and prominently featured in publications 'Old Ontario Houses' & 'The Settler's Dream'.
Formerly known as The Bee and Bee ~ Bed and Breakfast. The Welsh House has been operating since 2004. Jane & her partner Tony (former film-makers from Montreal) have been serving the visiting public here in The County for the past 16 years, until Tony passed away... but Jane is continuing the tradition, having brought a fondness for hospitality ~ a lifetime love of cooking, and a passion for gardening with her here to Prince Edward County.
A big fan of The County ~ Jane will be pleased to help you discover the area with maps and tips for all the best places to go ~ with recommendations for the best places to eat and the most interesting places to explore.
